It probably wouldn't come as a surprise to any 4x4 fan in Cincinnati, Batavia, Milford, or Mason OH to learn that the Jeep Wrangler SUV is one of the most customized--and most often customized--sport utility vehicles in the world. Between the endlessly capable possibilities and the ease of access to a full catalog of Mopar parts and accessories, not to mention advanced conversion kits, it's always been relatively easy to create a Jeep Wrangler that fits perfectly to your unique lifestyle.

But soon, fans will be able to bypass the conversion kits (which can cost up to $10,000+) and get a Jeep Wrangler pickup truck right out of the box.

And we might be getting a sneak peak of it at this year's 2016 Moab Easter Jeep Safari event at the end of the month. Engineers from the Jeep brand will be bringing at least three pickup truck concepts to the week-long retreat, and one of them just might be the ticket to the future of the Wrangler lineup.

Though this news release has been confirmed by Mike Manley (Jeep brand's global chief) and Sergio Marchionne (CEO of FIAT Chrysler), they were pretty tight-lipped about discussing any concrete details. At this moment, we know next to nothing about pricing or cost, release date, performance specs, engine options, or even the true model name of the Jeep Wrangler pickup truck.

We've heard no end to the rumors and theories buzzing around; gas or diesel, Gladiator or Scrambler or Brute, color schemes, capabilities, 2016 or 2017. But we won't know anything for at least a few more weeks. Though, with both the Moab Safari coming up and the New York International Auto Show at the end of the month, we can hope for more news by April. Check back soon for more details.
