Chrysler's Newest Star: the New 2017 Pacifica Minivan Breaks New Ground

Ready for a minivan in Cincinnati, Batavia, Milford, or Mason OH? You might be, after you meet the stunning 2017 Chrysler Pacifica.

With seating for up to eight passengers, a staggering interior, and available hybrid powertrain options, the all-new Pacifica might borrow a previously-used vehicle name (remember the long-lost crossover?) but it is far from a recycle. The Pacifica will be replacing both the Town & Country and the Grand Caravan in the overarching model lineup, but it will also exceed both vehicles' capabilities by far.

The model is built on an entirely new platform, so not only does it shave off around 300 pounds from the weight of the outgoing Town & Chrysler, it will actually offer more interior passenger and storage space than its predecessor,, too.

• 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, with 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque
• Front-wheel drive, 9-speed automatic transmission
• EPA est. 28 mpg highway, 18 mpg city for the gas-powered Pacifica
• Nearly 200 cubic feet of interior volume
• A Pacifica plug-in hybrid will be offered in the fall--with an EV driving range of up to 30 miles and a top economy of 80 MPG
